HOW CAN WE GO TO CAMIGUIN ISLAND?

Where can we find the Camiguin Island?


We can find Camiguin in the Northern Mindanao region. It is the second smallest population and land area after Batanes. This island is one of the provinces of the Philippines located in the Bohol Sea about 10 kilometers off the norther coast of Misamis Oriental in Mindanao. The capital of this province is Mambajo.

SUNKEN CEMETERY

As you can see, there is a large cross which means the memorialize of the departed buried there during the erupted of the Mt. Vulcan Daan in 1870’s.It is one of the favorite spot of the tourists here in Camiguin Island. It is in the middle of the sea. From a distance, one can see how lonely and solemn the place is. Entombed below the Cross are the lives lost to the history the people had been through, and place in itself already gave birth to the residents’ culture, history and tourism. If you were there, you can't miss to take a picture of the Sunken Cemetery.


ENIGMATA TREE HOUSE


A cute tree house of the Camiguin. The travelers go there to have some rest. There, they can relax because of the nice atmosphere. This is one of the nice place of Camiguin. There you can also meet new people with Backpackers' dormitory to experience the shared community living.

KATIBAWASAN FALLS

Why is it called Katibawasan? It is because the meaning of Katibawasan in Ilonggo is to overcome. There everyone is welcome to swim there as long as they know how to swim. It is ideal place to make your-self cool and fresh during hot days. We can consider this falls as one of the treasured gift from God. This is so awesome and the people in Camiguin are so proud having this kind of gift. The Waterfalls measured about 250 feet high, cascades to a rock pool surrounded by ground orchids, trees, boulders and wild ferns. . Giant ferns decorate the surrounding land, carpeting the spaces and huge trees and dropping vines provides the backdrop the falls. If you want to go there, you need to pay an entrance fee of 30 pesos per person since the falls is maintained by the province.

How to get there?

If you have your own vehicle, all you have to do is to ask or bring someone who knows that place or if ever you don't have vehicle, simply rent a vehicle and the driver will bring you there because all of the people there knows that place. I can make sure that you will enjoy your staying in Camiguin Island because of this.


MT. HIBOK-HIBOK

It is one of the active volcano in the Philippines. And it is also part of the Pacific ring of fire. It has six (6) hot springs such as Ardent Spring, Tangob, Bugong, Tagdo, Naasag and Kiyab. And because of five times eruption of this volcano, now it has three craters such as Kanangkaan Crater, site of the 1948 eruption; Itum Crater, site of 1949 eruption, and Ilihan Crater, site of 1950 eruption. As you can see, the beach is so beautiful and it feels like the beach is calling you to swim and. The sand is so white like the beaches of Boracay and Palawan. It is also one of the popular hiking in the Philippines.


THE WHITE ISLAND


As you can see, it is really surrounds by white sands. No wonder why it is called the White Island of Camiguin. It lays 1.4 kilometers off the northern shore of Camiguin Island between Barangay Agoho and Yumbing. White island in Camiguin is nothing other than a sand bar lost in the sea.

The Lanzones Festival


Lanzones is the major fruits of Camiguin. That's why every year, every time it is seasons of lanzones, they make a lanzones festival to celebrate as their thanksgiving to their Saints.

Well, it’s the beautiful beach surrounded by the white sand. I am sure you will enjoy every second staying on that place. They say Camiguin is the next Boracay.
